California State Parks announced it is temporarily closing vehicle access at all 280 state parks to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), including the Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center lot. Park Closure – Border Field State Park

Update 3/12/20: Border Field State Park is currently closed due to the recent storms. Out of precaution and public safety, the park is closed to hiking, biking, equestrian activity and vehicles until further notice. Please continue to check the website for updates. For information on the Tijuana River Valley, visit http://www.sdbeachinfo.com. Please be advised that there is no access to Friendship Circle from Border Field SP due to park closure. Friendship Circle is operated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

NOTE: The trails in the north portion of the Reserve and around the Visitor Center remain safely OPEN. These include the River Mouth Trail, Visitor Center Trail, N. and S. McCoy Trail, and Clapper Rail Trail.
