Fiesta del Río

Celebrating the Tijuana Estuary & its Cultures:
Where Nature and Nations Meet

Location: Imperial Beach Pier Plaza
Sunday, September 9, 2012 • 1:00 to 5:00 P.M.

Join us on Sunday, September 9, 2012, the theme will be “Celebrating the Tijuana Estuary and its Cultures: where nature and nations meet.”  We chose this theme to highlight the importance of wetlands as we also celebrate the 30th birthday of the Reserve. Imperial Beach Pier Plaza will host a variety of entertainment such as Ms. Smarty Plants with Wetland Wonders, Californio period and The Paul Cannon Band beach rock music, with northern Kumeyaay musicians; tours of the Reserve provided by Tijuana Estuary’s biologists; wetland themed activities and games for families and children; and booths featuring Reserve scientists, Think Blue San Diego, Living Coast Discovery Center, and native Kumeyaay arts and crafts. FREE!
