Reserve Programs

Reserve research and monitoring programs provide a robust foundation for effective national, regional, and local coastal zone management.

Coastal Training

The Coastal Training Program provides science-based information and training to support those who make decisions that affect coastal resources.

Reserves provide educational & outreach activities that advance estuary literacy and engage educators, students and the general public to practice coastal stewardship.

The Reserve’s Stewardship programs integrate science, monitoring and communities to protect, manage, and restore coastal habitats.

Watershed Program

The Reserve’s Watershed Program facilitates watershed improvement projects which result in direct environmental benefits to the Tijuana River Estuary.

The Tijuana River and its estuary are a dynamic system. The forces of flood, erosion, sedimentation, storm and fire constantly change the face of the river and the estuary and their habitats, flora and fauna.
