Community Cleanup in the Tijuana River Valley – Postponed
What: This is an opportunity for community members to come together to help remove debris from one of the most environmentally degraded areas in San Diego County. Trash, sediment and waste tires routinely travel across the border and into this area with each rain event. Every scrap of trash and discarded tire we remove helps to prevent it from entering the estuary, beaches and ocean.
Who: Surfrider Foundation San Diego County Chapter, Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve, CA State Parks and YOU!! Open to the public. All ages welcome. Volunteers under 18 yrs of age must have a signed waiver by parent or guardian and those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Where: Border Field State Park, 1500 Monument Road, San Diego, CA 92154
Why: To protect, preserve and restore the Tijuana River Valley.
What to wear/bring? Volunteers must work in long pants and boots or sturdy, closed-toe shoes. We also recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats. Work gloves, tools, water and a light snack will be provided.
