Stewardship volunteers perform a variety of duties, depending on their schedules and interests. Duties can include removing invasive species, planting native species, collecting seeds, repairing disturbed natural areas, educating the public about the restoration process, propagating plants, removing brush, trimming overgrown vegetation, replacing signs, repairing broken fencing and handrails, and helping to maintain the
nursery facility.

Every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of the month, from 10:00 to 11:00am. Take a leisurely stroll down the McCoy Trail and view and learn about some of the 370 species of birds that live or stop by this Reserve on their yearly migration. Walks begin at the Visitor Center unless otherwise noted on calendar. Bring binoculars if you have them. All ages welcome. No reservations required. FREE!
Lunchtime live occurs every other Tuesday at 12:00 PM. Visit our Facebook page and interact with us weekly as we virtually highlight a variety of plant and animal species found within the river valley. The broadcasts from lunchtime live are also available on our YouTube channel.

Every 2nd Saturday, from 11:00am to 12:30pm. The Tijuana Estuary protects a variety of plant communities and wildlife. Come and discover the richness that unfolds around the River Mouth trail, be it upland plant adaptations or the significance of our estuarine habitat. Walks begin at 5th & Iris Ave. (no restrooms). All ages welcome. No reservations required. FREE!
