Tijuana River Action Month (TRAM) is back and will include a variety of clean-ups, restoration events, workshops and more. Events will take place on both sides of the border and anyone can participate from either side.

This is an all-day event in South SD County for community members interested in learning more about the Tijuana Watershed pollution crisis and features a keynote discussion with Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, public health advocate whose research exposed the Flint water crisis, moderated by Imperial Beach Mayor Aguirre. Also included throughout the day will be an art build in preparation for a community gathering the following weekend on 10/13/24, and a Transboundary Forum on Nature-Based Solutions and Green Infrastructure Planning in the Tijuana River Watershed (note the location for this portion will be in Balboa Park).

Come help us remove invasive weeds in sensitive habitats!
As part of Tijuana River Action Month (TRAM), help restore native habitat. Volunteers will use hand tools, tarps, and bags to remove and dispose of the invasive species crystalline ice plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum) from a sensitive habitat area in Border Field State Park (BFSP).
This community event will acknowledge and celebrate a huge year of advocacy and all that we've been able to collectively accomplish as well as what still lies ahead in the struggle to address the public health and environmental justice emergency in the Tijuana River Watershed. Attendees will have an opportunity to hear from activists working on this issue, tabling, and making art. Come celebrate agriculture and community at the Tijuana River Valley Fall Fest on Saturday, October 19th! Free, family friendly and interactive offerings will be held at both the Tijuana River Valley Community Garden and Wild Willow Farm throughout the day.

Activities such as seed swaps, plant giveaways, local produce market, community resource booths, falconry demos, workshops, arts and crafts, artisanal market, face painting, tours and more will be held at these locations.

Tijuana River Action Month is a series of education and stewardship events held during September and October to benefit the Tijuana River Watershed. The goals of TRAM are to mobilize a record number of community volunteers and groups to become stewards of the Tijuana River Watershed; and, to recognize key efforts and investments by public and private agencies, businesses, non-profits and community groups to protect and restore the Tijuana River.
Tijuana River Action Network is a cross-border collaboration to address the conservation and restoration of the Tijuana River watershed by engaging in outreach, education, and being advocates for natural resources.
